2. The role of stainless steel split lock washers is:


1) Prevent loosening during use after tightening. The principle of anti-loosening is as follows:

Generally speaking, the thread turns right, while the spiral direction of stainless steel split lock washers turns left. When bolts and nuts are tightened, the stainless steel split lock washers are tightened and compressed in the spiral direction. If there is loose force, the sharp corners of the stainless steel split lock washers cut will have a great local contact stress and friction with the fasteners and nuts to prevent loosening.


At the same time, when the fastener assembly is subjected to the axial force of vibration, due to the elastic deformation of each component after the force is applied, a gap will be generated between the fasteners at a certain moment, which is relatively easy to loosen. The elasticity of the stainless spring pad can just make up for the instantaneous gap between the fasteners to prevent loosening.


2) Absorb vibration energy to prevent vibration and wear on the smaller contact surface due to the vibration force between the fasteners, so as to prevent (or delay) the vibration and wear between the fasteners to a certain extent. There is a gap between them, or the gap is increased and the fastening effect is lost.
