1. Material requirements
Weld nuts are usually made of weldable materials such as low carbon steel, alloy steel or stainless steel. The chemical composition, mechanical properties and hardness of the material should meet the relevant standards to ensure that it can meet the requirements of strength and corrosion resistance during use.
2. Welding process requirements
Welding method: Select a suitable welding method according to the material and use environment of the nut. For example, stainless steel welded nuts usually use non-oxidizing welding methods such as argon arc welding or plasma welding to avoid oxide scale and pores in the welded joint.
Welding parameters: Welding parameters should be determined according to the size of the nut, plate thickness and load-bearing capacity. For example, for three-convex or four-convex nuts, parameters such as welding current, pressure and welding time need to be strictly controlled.
Welding method: For nuts welded on the plate, welds with smaller load-bearing capacity can be welded intermittently in three sections, while welds with larger load-bearing capacity need to be welded in full.
3. Welding quality requirements
Appearance quality: The weld should be free of defects such as spatter, cracks, burns, etc. The surface of the nut should not be crushed on a large area, and there should be no spatter welding slag in the thread.
Mechanical properties: The welded nut should maintain good mechanical properties, and its strength should meet the design requirements.
Dimensional accuracy: The dimensional tolerance of the nut should be strictly controlled during the welding process to ensure its stability and interchangeability.
4. Surface treatment requirements
The surface treatment of the welded nut can improve its corrosion resistance and aesthetics. Common methods include electrogalvanizing and phosphating.
5. Other requirements
Verticality of the nut to the welding surface: During welding, the nut should be perpendicular to the welding surface and concentric with the plate hole.
Marking specifications: The marking of the welded nut should be clear and standardized, including information such as thread size, material, performance and welding position.
