1. Choose the right bolt material:
In high temperature environments, high temperature resistant bolt materials such as alloy steel, stainless steel, etc. should be selected. These materials have good high temperature strength and corrosion resistance.
8.8 grade bolts can be quenched and tempered with low carbon alloy steel or medium carbon steel; 10.9 grade bolts can be quenched and tempered with medium carbon steel or low and medium carbon alloy steel or alloy steel.
2. Control the tightening force:
In high temperature environments, the tightening force may gradually decrease due to the creep phenomenon of the bolt material. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly check and adjust the tightening force of the bolt according to the actual situation to ensure its safe connection.
3. Take anti-corrosion measures:
For bolts that may be oxidized and corroded, measures such as coating, galvanizing and anti-corrosion lubricants can be taken to improve their corrosion resistance.
4. Control the hot dip galvanizing process temperature:
The high temperature hot dip galvanizing temperature is generally controlled between 530°C and 560°C. For 8.8 and 10.9 grade bolts, the temperature of hot dip galvanizing plays a secondary tempering role on the product. When high-strength bolts produced by medium carbon steel or low carbon alloy steel are used, the surface hardness will be reduced due to the influence of hot dip galvanizing temperature, which will have an adverse effect on the mechanical properties of the fasteners. Therefore, effective control measures should be taken to prevent hydrogen embrittlement.
5. Increase thermal insulation measures:
When using hot dip galvanized bolts in high temperature environments, you can consider increasing thermal insulation measures, such as using thermal insulation gaskets or thermal insulation materials to reduce the impact of heat on the bolts.
6. Regular inspection and maintenance:
In high temperature environments, bolts may become loose or damaged due to thermal expansion and contraction, so regular inspection and maintenance are required to detect and solve problems in a timely manner.
