When selecting nuts for flange connection, factors such as pipeline operating pressure, operating temperature, media type and gasket type should be considered at the same time.

The type of gasket is the same as the operating pressure and operating temperature, which directly impose requirements on the strength of the fastener material. For example, the flange connection of a low-pressure and highly toxic medium pipeline sealed with a spiral wound gasket. Although the operating pressure and temperature of the pipeline are not high, the specific pressure required to form the initial seal of the spiral wound gasket is relatively large. The fasteners are required to bear a large load. Therefore, in this case, the fasteners are required to use high-strength alloy steel materials.
